Holidays are just around the corner, really. Many of us won't be able to travel back home to see the family and will have to sit around wishing we were there. Well, maybe you can be there. Let me tell you a little personal story on exactly what my family did. We moved cross country (about 2400 miles), and I always dreaded the holidays. I know we couldn't go back for every one, but the kids (and i guess me too) really missed seeing everyone. I decided one year to fire up the VIA3, turned on the webcams and invited away!!! The kids had a ball, especially seeing grandpa (who is 83) laughing the whole time. Everyone got to see each other, there was lots of conversations and excitement (along with a virtual meal)....with grandpa still trying to figure out how the video thing works and asking what is an avatar. I recorded the session – thank goodness because it was just too cute – and now I have something I can look at when I'm a grandma.
